This piece was created for our Kangaroo Island Easter Art Exhibition, which this year had the theme “Reflections”. I chose to focus on the process of reflecting on past experiences. “The Cogitator” title is playing on Rodin’s masterpiece of deep thought, “The Thinker”.
Reflective thoughts draw upon a complex network of neuron paths in the ever-evolving landscape of the mind. There is no single, unconnected thought. As with a landscape, paths are formed through experience, some are familiar and well-worn, others are faint and difficult to find.
