Silver & Gold

I’m presenting these two pieces as a pair. They are the same size, they share a common arrangement and are both made using our unique Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaved Mallee leaves. The piece above is made using leaves from a broken limb, which had weathered and gradually turned silver. The lower one is made of gold leaves, which I collected soon after they’d fallen from the tree and lay scattered on the ground. The leaves were exposed to different conditions, due to chance, and consequently appear in very different states. It can be seen as a metaphor for life, where riches are dealt out unevenly.
