I collected these leaves from a fallen limb on one of our bush tracks. I’d seen them change from green to brown and then marveled as they began to turn silver; their smooth waxy finish changing to the texture of fine sandpaper – just a fleeting moment of decay in the millennia of life on this land. They remind me of the interconnected nature of everything; the transience and transference as the end of one thing is the beginning of another; the eternal return and the gift of life.
