There are two species of Banksia that naturally occur in South Australia and we’re very fortunate to have both on our property. Their impressive cylinder brush flowers look like flocks of rotund birds roosting in the branches. But I’m drawn to details and it’s the underside of the dried leaves that I’m featuring here; the fine veins remind me of old crackled porcelain.
